About the 2009 Lazy Leader Road Show

Why are you doing The Lazy Leader Transforms America – One Volunteer at a Time Road Show?

We are tired of hearing all the bad news about the economy and our country. We don’t believe in sitting back and just complaining when there is something we can do to make things better.

Local chapters and nonprofits have the potential to be key players in transforming America. The time is great for building membership and volunteer bases. Today’s leaders need to learn to lead the mission instead of doing all the work. In other words be a Lazy Leader who gets work done through others – instead of being a martyr leader who does it all themselves.

Our goal is to train 1,000 leaders through a 10-week, 10 city tour. The Lazy Leader Road Show training program runs 2 hours and will be presented by Cynthia D’Amour.

The 10 weeks will start September 10th and end November 20th.

Lazy Leader? Last thing I want to be called is a Lazy Leader!

The Lazy Leader is a term Cynthia came up with to describe the opposite of the all too common martyr leader who does it all. Her book, The Lazy Leader’s Guide to Outrageous Results came out in January and has been making a major difference for leaders.

We believe embracing becoming a Lazy Leader is critical for local chapters and nonprofits to do all they need to do to help transform America.

  1. Hello, I am wondering if there are still openings on your tour. I am a board member of the Humboldt Association for the Education of Young Children, and could put together a coalition of other childcare related organizations to sponsor/organize the event if you could come to our community. Thank you!

  2. Hi Star!

Thanks for asking. Unfortunately it’s too late to host another stop for the Lazy Leader Road Show.

Hopefully there’s one not too far from you.

    Cynthia

  3. When will you be accepting and booking new host stops – I’d like to bring you to northern NJ

  4. Hi Joanelle,

We are waiting to decide if we are going to do this again. We will know more when this tour is over.

Your best bet to stay in the loop is to check back regularly or sign up for either the Chapter Leaders Playground http://www.chapterleadersplayground.org (Normal $50/year membership is free this month) or sign up for my ezine which comes out twice a month. You can find the sign up form at the Playground as well.

If we do this in the future, that’s were we would start recruiting new host cities.

    Thanks for your interest! Cynthia
