Let’s Talk Money
I’ve been getting a few questions about money and bringing me to your community.
Decided to answer main ones here.
How much does it cost to be a local host team?
- Each team is contributing $300 towards my travel.
- I am waiving my normal speaking fee for this event.
- You will also be responsible for getting a room that holds 100+ volunteer leaders, AV and perhaps some of your promos.
You have the opportunity to make this back with the door charge of $10-19/person.
We are a local nonprofit with a tight budget. Why are you charging us $300 to bring the Road Show to our community?
- Normally it would cost you several thousand dollars to bring me in to speak at your event.
- I’m waiving my normal speaking fee to host teams because I believe by helping to build strong chapters we will truly transform America.
- The $300 is to help defray costs – and to make sure you have some skin in the game too.
Plus, with three chapters or nonprofits working together as a host team that’s only $100 each. You’ll easily make the money back with registration fees.
Why can’t we charge a larger registration fee? I know a lot of people who would love to hear you – and you are worth a lot more than just $19. My chapter could make a lot of money!
- The goal of this event is to bring leadership training to as many local leaders as possible – our goal is 5,000 in ten weeks.
- Not to make your host team a lot of money.
- That said, even at $10-19/person, the more leaders you get in the room, the more you will make.
Why do we have to charge anything?
- People who pay nothing to attend tend to drop out last minute.
- They have no skin in the game.
- Show rates for free events tend to be closer to 50%.
- Even $10 makes a big difference in attendance.
Your goal as a local host team is to have 100+ people in the room for the training.
This will help you reach that number.
Who gets to keep the registration fees?
- That’s up to you and your local host team partners.
- We are not asking for anything from you beyond the $300 travel contribution.
- You will be asked on your application to be a local host team how you plan to divide up extra revenue.
- This is to help you all be on the same page from the get go.
Hope this helps. If you have more questions, let me know.
