Getting Strategic: Building Local Host Teams
Posted on June 3rd, 2009 by Cynthia D'Amour
Here’s another example of how to find potential partners for your local host team.
Your group:
- Let’s say you are a local chapter of professional organizers.
- You’ve got about 50 members.
- Your chapter is very excited to host the Lazy Leader Road Show.
Where do you find additional partners for your team?
1. Are there other local chapters of your national in the area?
- They need to be close enough for folks to drive to your event.
- When host team chapters are located in near by communities you can expand your promotion to attract more attendees.
2. Who are other people who are into organizing?
- Perhaps administrative professionals?
- Movers?
- Office supply stores?
3. Who are people your members would like to meet? (Who might need to hire a professional organizer?)
- Professionals who need extra time in their lives?
- People with home-based offices?
- People associated with folks who need to move?
What groups do these people belong to?
- Working with your host team partners is a neat opportunity for members to build relationships.
- You may want to be strategic in who you decide to partner with.
